Core Telecom supports charity sky dive for Breakthrough Breast Cancer

Core Telecom’s Chief Executive, Mahmood Mazhar has maintained his long standing commitment to helping a wide range of charities by supporting a charity sky dive to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Emma Shaw is planning to jump out of a plane at 10,000 feet to raise money for a brand new state of the art cancer research facility in Manchester. In partnership with The Christie and The Paterson Institute, this will open up new and far more effective breast cancer treatments to thousands of women.

The jump will take place on 18th March 2012.

Breakthrough Breast Cancer is a charity committed to the prevention, treatment and ultimate eradication of breast cancer. They aim to achieve these goals by fighting on three fronts – research, campaigning and education. The continuation of their great work is solely reliant on donations from the public, and people such as Emma raising money through a whole host of events.

Mahmood Mazhar commented, “Breakthrough Breast Cancer is a great charity that not only supports cancer patients but is totally committed to new research and educating people on the causes of cancer. What Emma is doing is fantastic and I’m delighted to be able to support her”.

The overall campaign plans to raise over £5 million, this will enable them to build the new facility within the next 5 years.

Maurice Watkins, chair of the fundraising board said, “With around 5,000 women diagnosed with breast cancer in the North West each year it is vital that new lifesaving treatments are found. We have a great opportunity to make a huge impact both nationally and internationally in the fight against the disease, but we need your support to make this happen.”

Along With Mahmood’s generous donation, Emma is receiving great support from family and friends and is well on the way to raising a fantastic amount of money.

This recent donation continues the great support Core Telecom has provided to various charities, including significant donations to Diabetes UK, The Disabilities Trust, Cancer Research UK. This latest charity support follows the great support Core Telecom has shown to the charity Dreams & Wishes, which was recently recognised by a member of parliament.
